Welcome! The Coffs Harbour and District Aero Club is the only training Aero Club on the East Coast that has an RAAus exemption for flight training in controlled airspace with an operating control tower. This is a huge bonus for flight training, meaning you will train in a real air traffic environment.
We have a system to allow private hire by suitably qualified and endorsed recreational pilots flying in Class D airspace. Student ground training is conducted in our air-conditioned briefing room.

Having two aircraft online has expanded availability, and many students and pilots regularly fly and enjoy both aircraft.

Trial Introductory Flight
The starting point to learning to fly
A Trial Introductory Flight gives you first-hand experience flying an Australian-made Jabiru J170 Light Sport Aircraft. After a briefing and pre-flight checks, you’ll taxi with tower clearance, experience the takeoff, and take the controls in the air with your instructor alongside.

The Aero Club is not registered to collect GST. We are happy to help you book a TIF as a gift.
The clubhouse
Friday nights from 5pm. We’d love to see you there.
The Aero Clubhouse is air-conditioned, with a fully licensed bar, commercial kitchen, outside undercover courtyard and large barbecue. The bar opens and food is available from 5pm most Fridays.
We also cater for functions, birthdays, meetings and special occasions at competitive rates. Check our Facebook page for bar opening dates and other events we may be hosting or attending.
